TEDx visits the Open Univeristy

tedxGenerosity, Greed and the Greater Good was the name of the TEDx event held in MK, last Thursday. It was a one day conference hosted by MK Community Foundation and The Open University, and featured eight speakers, including local people, who shared their big ideas to the 100 audience members. TEDx talks are shared internationally and in the next few weeks will be available worldwide on youtube. The event concluded with The Kindness Offensive giving the audience over £7,000 of white goods donated by local company BSH.
Local speakers included Jessica Bowden of Niftylift who shared her thoughts on companies ‘Paying it Forward’ to help young people realise and achieve their aspirations. Malcolm Brighton OBE talked about closing the gap between the lowest and highest paid people in our community. Jez Rose Behaviour Expert explored our perceptions of ourselves and how generous we really are and Adam Naisbitt local entrepreneur shared his experiences of making 2012 Olympic Games tickets accessible to the general public.
The grand finale was kicked off by David Goodfellow of The Kindness Offensive who wowed the audience with gifts generously donated by BSH to share the experience of selfless giving.
