Last month, Rail Care, the rail refurbishment firm based in Wolverton, went into administration, forcing 118 employees from Milton Keynes into redundancy. Further redundancies were made yesterday, and the administrators are facing difficulty paying even those currently employed. Mark Lancaster, MP for Milton Keynes North, says he is determined to ensure those currently employed are protected and those that have lost their jobs are supported back into work as quickly as possible. Street Food Cafe, a local cafe recently opened in Wolverton, has also been supporting the Rail Care staff by offering free lunches this week. And an online petition has been launched asking the government for support.
