FA Women’s Cup Final at the MK Dons Stadium

Though the football season may be over, and fans are getting ready for the World Cup in Brazil, that hasn’t stopped the activity at MK Dons. MK Dons has seen some notable departures. All-time leading goalscorer Izale McLeod has left MK Dons after his contract expired. Alan Smith and Ryan Hall have also been allowed to leave as Karl Robinson revealed the players he would retain next season. Stephen Gleeson, Antony Kay and Mark have all been offered new contracts, while the club has taken up options on the contracts of Lee Odson and Ben Reeves.
In addition, the Women’s FA Cup Final will be held at the MK Dons stadium this Sunday. The final will also feature former X Factor finalist Luke Friend who will perform at the FA Women’s Cup Final at stadiummk. The singer, who finished third in the last series of the hit reality show, will perform for supporters before kick-off.

The FA Women’s Cup Final, which is between Arsenal and Everton, takes place at the home of the Dons this Sunday, a match which will also be shown live on BBC Two (4.30pm KO). Local soprano, Emily Haig, will perform the national anthem.

Luke Friend said: “I can’t wait to perform at the FA Women’s Cup Final. I’ve always been a massive fan of football and have a huge respect for anybody who takes part in this amazing sport. “The fact that it is a cup final makes it even more exciting. I’m sure there will be a massive buzz around the stadium.”

Emily Haig said: “I was thrilled and honoured to be asked to perform the national anthem for the FA Women’s Cup Final.  I’m really delighted to be a part of such a major sporting event, especially as it is taking place at stadiummk, in my home town.  “I am so looking forward to hearing the crowd join in with the Anthem and to experiencing the atmosphere just before kick-off. I know it will be a really memorable occasion for me and I wish both teams all the very best for the match.”
